When choosing a pallet jack you should ensure the pallet jack can handle the weight load of the freight that you receive. You should also look at the heaviest freight that you get and leave extra room above that to decide the weight capacity of the pallet truck you need.
Ensure that you do not settle for a cheap pallet truck as long usage of these the cylinders will some time break seals when choose a cheaper model.
Stackers
Another useful piece of equipment to have in your warehouse is the stacker. This resembles the pallet truck, but the forks can be raised upwards to stack pallets in fixtures for better storage.
Most warehouses will utilize upper beams for extra room in the warehouse. So having one is an advantage when stacking pallets up in the fixtures or pallets of freight on the warehouse floor.
Stackers come either with manual power - meaning you have to use your own weight to pull them and also pump to move the forks up - or with fully powered stackers, usually battery-run, which enables you to move heavy freight around the warehouse with ease.
If you receive a lot of freight in your warehouse that is not palletized then you will most likely benefit from using a conveyor, these are great for moving boxes off of a freight truck without having to walk all of them out manually.
You can place the boxes on the conveyor belt and push the boxes down on the belt which can be picked up by another employee for processing or storage. Normally companies will use these to move boxes off of the truck and then palletize the boxes for storage or shipping.
